S.W.A.T. Team Members completed their hunt and checked theit

S.W.A.T. Team members were introduced to a technology scavenger hurt in which they looked up terms and people related to technology.

After a two-week back, the S.W.A.T. was excited to return. As you can see from our front page, members were also happy to receive their new t-shirts. In the following weeks, we'll be covering how things work. We will discuss not just how to fix something or what it does, but how it actually works.

Hi wonderful SWAT Team members,

Our next topic we will discuss “How Things Work?" so think about this question carefully, as you observe things all around you. Check out this cool website click on the link.

On our Team Assignment page, I've posted an activity for you to do, ask your parents or a family member to play it with you and be ready to discuss at the next meeting.  Also catch something unique at the parades and bring it to the next meeting on February 20, 2013. Have a safe and fun Mardi Gras holiday.

Always REMEMBER to Feed Your Brain and Learn All You Can!

I am So Proud You!

This week students learned how to upload photo galleries onto their pages. Like the ones you have seen on our home page and this blog, photo galleries give page masters and viewers a neater, more organized way to view many pictures. The SWAT Team used pictures they saved from their jump drives. The following week (Feb. 4), SWAT is canceled due to several Mardi Gras parades rolling. The week following (Feb. 11), SWAT is again canceled due the Mardi Gras holiday week.

After mastering the digital camera and its settings, SWAT Team members put their skills to use by taking pictures and learning how to save those pictures from the camera to computers.
Many times our cameras and cell phones become fill from the amount of pictures we take. By knowing how to move them to the computer, we are creating space for more pictures! The members learned how memory cards fit into computers; used memory card readers and how to create files on the computer and their jump drives.

Happy New Year! The SWAT Team was excited to be back and jumped right back into the swing of things with learning how to use various cameras. In their classrooms, teachers have cameras and SWAT members
